Support Your School. Support Mental Health.

At Stop.Breathe.Think we believe every child and young person deserves access to timely, professional mental health support. Through our school partnerships, we provide counselling and wellbeing services that help pupils overcome challenges, build resilience and thrive both in and out of the classroom. Whether you are already a Stop.Breathe.Think partner school or simply looking for a meaningful way to support children's mental health, your school community can make a real difference by fundraising with us.

Get Involved During Key Mental Health Campaigns

World Mental Health Day – In October each year, this is one of the biggest opportunities of the year to raise awareness and champion positive mental health across your school community.

Mental Health Awareness Week – In May each year, another fantastic opportunity to place wellbeing at the heart of school life.

Schools can use these campaigns to:

· Raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing

· Promote kindness, inclusion and peer support

· Encourage help-seeking behaviours

· Celebrate the importance of looking after our mental wellbeing

· Fundraise for children and young people’s mental health services

Your fundraising can have a direct impact on your own school community ensuring that children and young people within your school can access professional mental health support when they need it most.

For example, for every £249 raised one of your pupils can be supported with six online counselling sessions and have access to our wellbeing drop-in sessions and 24/7 text support service.

Fundraising Ideas

£1 for Mental Health – Invite every pupil to donate £1 and help make mental health support accessible to more young people by taking part in one of the following ideas:

Mental Miles – Collectively walk, run or cycle a set number of miles.

Bake for Better Wellbeing – Bring together pupils and staff through a school bake-off or sale.

Staff vs Students – A football challenge, tug of war, quiz, or sponsored silence!

Positive Wall – Share messages of kindness, encouragement and advice for looking after wellbeing.

Or take part in our own Be Out There campaign which encourages schools to take learning and wellbeing activities outdoors, recognising the proven benefits that outdoor activities can have on mental health. Schools can hold:

· Outdoor assemblies

· Daily miles

· Outdoor lessons

· Picnics

· Outdoor sports activities

Being outdoors can help children feel happier, healthier and more connected, while fundraising helps ensure young people can access the support they need.

Every Young Person Deserves Someone to Talk To

Today is World Mental Health Day / Mental Health Awareness Week.

Mental health is something we all have and, like our physical health, it needs care and attention.

Sometimes young people face challenges that affect how they feel. Stress, anxiety, family difficulties, friendship issues, grief and low confidence can all have an impact on wellbeing.

That is why we are proud to partner with Stop.Breathe.Think. The charity provides professional counselling and wellbeing support for pupils who need someone to talk to. Their counsellors help young people manage challenges, build resilience and improve their wellbeing.

Today, we’re not fundraising for a distant cause. We’re fundraising for our own community. The beneficiaries may be classmates, friends, teammates and peers who need somebody to talk to and help.

By raising money today, you are helping ensure that every pupil who needs support can access it.

Thank you for helping make our school a place where nobody faces their challenges alone.

Headteacher Message

Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and Pupils,

This World Mental Health Day/Mental Health Awareness Week, our school is proud to support Stop.Breathe.Think, our trusted mental health charity partner.

We know that positive mental health is fundamental to learning, achievement, attendance and overall wellbeing. We also know that many young people face challenges that can sometimes feel overwhelming.

As a Stop.Breathe.Think partner school, our pupils can access specialist counselling and wellbeing support when they need it. By taking part in our fundraising activities, you are helping us ensure that these services remain available to our school community.

Importantly, the funds raised will support the very children and young people who attend our school. The beneficiaries may be classmates, friends, teammates and peers who need somebody trained to listen and help.

Thank you for helping us create a school where every young person feels supported, valued and able to thrive.
